So far we have already taken the International Marketing Management lecture for 2 days. The teacher is a British with strong British accent but as funny as an American. His favorite phrase is “Are you happy with that?” He said it almost anytime when finishing ONE slid. Therefore, all the naughty classmates start to imitate him and use the phrase all the time. Although the teacher is very amusing, this subject is still very boring to me. All the topics about customer, market place, management, strategy, value chain…sound similar to each other. It’s just like repeating all the cliché in different manner and with a better presentation. I didn’t see any concrete thing or any substantial incremental knowledge. Maybe I am not suitable for being marketing personnel, or maybe I should also try to learn how to effectively bluff to make people bewildered in these abstract concepts. I still remember that when I was confused about whether to choose finance or marketing in Nimbas, my mentor told me that majoring in marketing is the better way to improve English. In terms of his advice, maybe I really should take this opportunity to practice how to impress people with a well-performed presentation, especially when there actually isn’t any tangible idea inside. My new study group doesn’t cooperate very smoothly until now. Arguments and angers happen sometime. The difference in target-setting even makes the condition worse. Some people aim to be excellent while others just want to pass, which makes it hard for the former to push the latter to work. However, I believe they are all very nice people personally. Mike seems to like to make joke at first impression. Latter you will find that he is actually a very warm person. Alexandra is very friendly and has a quickly reaction to guys’ joke. Katherine is always very diligent and responsible. Roger is cool in appearance but also like to joke with Mike very much. Hope I can become good friend with them! ps. The photo is in the kindergarden beside Nimbas. Recently I had read a news from yahoo news that Dutch children is the happiest children of the world. One day I passed the kindergarden and heard the loud children laugh, thinking about that news and took this photo. Btw, it's very amazing to see that those small teenagers are kindergarden studnet. Dutch people are so tall!
